Arizer Solo

Vor der Markteinführung traten nur wenige Informationen über den neuen tragbaren Vaporizer von Arizer, dem Solo, an die Öffentlichkeit. Es ist der dritte von der Firma Arizer Tech veröffentlichte Vaporizer und die Erwartungen waren diesmal hoch. Nun ist es an der Zeit uns diesen tragbaren Vaporizer etwas genauer anzusehen!

Aussehen

Der Solo kommt gut verpackt mit viel Schutzfolie, vor allem um die Glasteile. Alle Teile sind sicher und einzeln verpackt um Schäden während des Transports zu vermeiden.

In der Schachtel finden wir:

• 1 Arizer Solo Vaporizer (oder wie in der Bedienungsanleitung beschrieben, „Batteriebetriebenes Mehrzweck Heizelement“)
  
• 2 gläserne Diffuser-Röhrchen
  
• 1 gläserne Potpourri-Schale
  
• 1 Ladegerät (und in unserem Fall ein EU-Adapterstecker)
  
• Bedienungsanleitung
  
• Kräuterprobe

Bevor wir den Solo in unseren Händen hielten, haben wir viel über die Größe des Geräts gelesen und wussten, dass es ungefähr die Größe einer kleinen Cola-Dose hat. Dies mussten wir natürlich überprüfen und es stellte sich heraus, dass der Solo etwas kleiner als eine Red Bull-Dose ist – Mundstück nicht eingerechnet. Der Vaporizer ist ziemlich kompakt und fühlt sich robust an. Die einzigen Teile aus Plastik an der Außenseite sind die Knöpfe und der Teil an dem sich die LEDs befinden, die vom Boden bis zur Mitte verlaufen. Der Solo sieht so aus und fühlt sich auch so an als ob er einiges vertragen kann.

Positiv herauszuheben ist, dass ein extra Diffuser-Röhrchen inkludiert ist, da es zwar aus sehr dickem Glas besteht, aber dennoch sehr bruchanfällig ist.

Auf dem Oberteil des Geräts gibt es einen kleinen Gummianschluss, der geöffnet werden kann um das Diffuser-Röhrchen (oder die Potpourri-Schale) anzuschließen.

Funktion

Nach dem Aufladen des Solos (ungeduldig wie ich war, habe ich ihn nicht vollständig aufgeladen, was laut Hersteller 4 Stunden dauert) war es Zeit ihn zu testen. Nachdem ich neugierig war wie lange es dauert um den Solo aus dem Ruhezustand auf Stufe 7 zu erhitzen (410°F /210°C), verwendete ich eine Stoppuhr und fand heraus, dass es nur 2 Minuten und 40 Sekunden braucht um vollständig aufzuheizen. Ziemlich beeindruckend!

Während dem Aufheizen blinkt das HEAT-Zeichen, der Prozess wird im langsamen Aufleuchten der Lampen von 1 bis 7 angezeigt. Alles in allem, fühlt sich der Umgang mit dem Gerät sehr angenehm an.
Als Standardeinstellung, nach dem Auspacken ist der Arizer Solo so eingestellt, dass er beim Einschalten und dem Drücken der Knöpfe piepst. Ich war froh als ich herausfand, dass dieses eher nervende Geräusch auch ausgeschaltet werden kann, indem man den UP-Knopf ca. 2 Sekunden lang gedrückt hält.

Beim Füllen des Diffuser-Röhrchens fand ich es hilfreich das Röhrchen erst zu füllen und den Solo beim Anschließen umgedreht zu halten, um unnötiges Ausschütten zu vermeiden. Das Glasröhrchen sitzt für meinen Geschmack etwas zu locker in das Heizelement. Ich hätte einen bodennahen Glasanschluss bevorzugt, damit der Glasanschluss das Mundstück etwas besser hält, obwohl dies die Möglichkeit das Glas zu rotieren einschränken würde. Solange der Solo aufrecht steht sollte es keine Probleme geben.
Nach dem Füllen mit einem zerriebenen Kraut und dem Einschalten war es Zeit um herauszufinden ob der Solo seine Rivalen auch in Bezug auf Effektivität schlagen kann.

Bei der Temperaturstufe 6 war der Geschmack großartig, ich konnte alle Aromen erkennen und die Temperatur des eingeatmeten Dampfes scheint auch perfekt zu sein. Die Hits sind dicker als bei jedem anderen Vaporizer, den ich je probiert habe und es gibt nahezu keinen Lernprozess. Er ist so angenehm wie ein tragbarer Vaporizer sein kann.

Die winzigen Löcher im Glasröhrchen, lassen nichts des Krauts durch, ich kann mir aber vorstellen, dass es bei stärkerem Ziehen oder sehr klein zerriebenen Kraut passieren könnte.

Zusammenfassung

Der Arizer Solo ist alles was man sich von einem batteriebetriebenen, tragbaren Vaporizer wünschen kann und es ist schwer Nachteile zu nennen, abgesehen von kleineren Makeln, z.B. dass man ihn während dem Aufladen nicht verwenden kann und der Tatsache, dass die eingebaute Lithium Batterie nur durch Arizer ersetzt werden kann (zum Preis von $95).

Die Qualität der und der Geschmack, des durch den Solo produzierten Dampfs sind einmalig und die schnelle Aufwärmzeit trägt das seinige dazu bei. Das gut durchdachte Design des Arizer Solo macht ihn zu einem einfach anzuwendenden Vaporizer.

Ich denke, dass die einfache Anwendung und die eindrucksvolle Ausdauer der Batterie machen die etwas größeren Ausmaße wett. Er ist immer noch klein genug um nicht zu viel unerwünschte Aufmerksamkeit anzuziehen und nicht zu vergessen, er ist absolut leise (wenn man das Piepsen ausschaltet).

Hab ihn gekauft als er rauskamm. Die Verarbeitung ist gut. Er ist mir aus ca. 1.4m höhe auf eine Waschbetonplatte gefallen und hat oben nur einen kleinen Kratzer abbekommen. Das Mundstück ist mir etwas zu jackelig in der oberen Öffnung des Solo und die Löcher sind mir etwas zu groß. Man kann kein feingehächseltes Kraut rein tun ohne das etwas beim ziehen durchkommt deswegen benutze ich kleine Siebe(10mm).Die Temperatur erscheind mir schon bei stuffe 2(185°C) vollkommen ausreichend zu sein. Hab auch nen XtremQ der bei 185°C nicht soviel dampf macht wie der Solo. Stufe 3 und 4 Dampfen schon heftig(ist mir fast zu heiss). Der Iolite z.B kann beim Dampf überhaupt nicht mithalten da ist der Solo schon sehr gut. Im Mundstück setzt sich schnell Kondensat ab aber der Solo an sich bleibt immer sauber auch nach 100maligem Gebrauch. Mundstück ist gut und einfach mit etwas Alkohol zu reinigen Das akku hält was es verspricht.(da gehen 4 Stunden). Den Potburi hab ich nicht probiert, sollte aber gehen. Fazit: Für Unterwegs ein super Teil. Sehr schnelles aufheizen, klein und handlich+ lange Akkulaufzeit

ich hatte den Iolite Vaporizer 2 und ich habe ihn gerne gegen den neuen Arizer Solo getauscht.

-Aluminium statt Plastik, wirklich sehr edel verarbeitet-
-Glas statt Kunststoff
-Temperaturregelung
-Ich kann mit einer Ladung ca. 10x vaporisieren, Iolite ca. 2-3x.
-Der Rauch ist kühler und sehr angenehm, voller Rauch volles Aroma.

Mir der Temperaturregelung kann man gegen den Schluss noch die letzten Aromen restlos geniessen.
Dieses Teil hat einfach alles was es braucht und ich muss nicht mehr rauchen um die Kräuter zu geniessen ;--)

Ich bin völlig begeistert von dem Gerät.

Nur das Aufheizen dauert mir VIEL zu lange. Das könnte man sicher noch verbessern.

In schlechten Zeiten (Festival - viel Rauchen wenig Steckdosen und erst recht keine 4 Stunden Zeit zum laden) da könnte eine austauschbare Stromquelle von Vorteil sein. Sch... Apple mit seinem Tick Akkus fest einzubauen. Ich würde sogar gutes Geld für ein zweites Akkupack. Vor allem wenn man an die Größe und das Gewicht der heutigen Lithium Ionen Akkus denkt.

Jedenfalls eine Kaufempfehlung.
Meiner Meinung nach besser als Iolite, Iolite V2 und Iolite Wispr.

Arizer did a great job with the Solo. It is small, lightweight and most important: it produces big and tasty hits of vapor. Ive used it throughout the day now and havent had to charge the battery yet which I think is a great plus compared to other portable vapes.

Arizer really came through with this one........wow. It's expensive but very well designed and you won't believe the big tasty hits you get....and keep getting from it. Adjustable temperature and ALL GLASS delivery system make this a new day in portable vapes. no expensive butane required either (yeah you know who you are)

If you're looking for a new portable buy this one....YOU WON"T BE SORRY! Guaranteed.

Arizer managed to pack the punch that comes out of the Q into a can sized portable unit.

And it works... GREAT! No learning curve at all, and as you suck your first air currents through the device you blast off to a state of bliss.

What do I want more other then my Q and Solo? Food. That's about it. Oh yeah and herbs.

I received the solo yesterday and was quite impressed it looks solid and feels solid. Easy to turn on and off and easy to adjust temps, and it reaches temps fairly quickly. The battery seems to last quite awhile,..still going on a full charge ( about 5 times used and still going strong) although it has an auto shut off @ 12 min.
The diffuser tubes that came with it seems like the holes are too small and I am not able to take a draw like i wanted or feel like it should, ( I do have a "box" style from vapor warez that has worked flawlessly for 5 years that hits hard and the air flow has not much resistance) so i may be biased but its not like hitting a pipe....Air has to basically go around the tube from the top, it does not go through any part of the machine or element which is like a cup that heats up then heats the tube ( can get very hot be careful!!!) which then vaps the goods, once you get used to hitting its ok ( still wish it had more air flow).... after turning it on it took 2 or 3 min to heat not too bad,....i tried at 4 first and it barely worked ,....basically put it at 6 to work descent...had a pretty strong plastic or rubber taste the first few times( again I use a vapor box that uses glass and ceramic which is very clean) but it does seem to be going away,...After i tested it I had to take off the cap to see what was going on and was a little disappointed to see a plastic " case" holding the heater,.....not sure if or how much chemicals get emitted by getting pretty hot......don't know, again seems like its going away.....Anyway as a vapor "SNOB" I only use vaporizers...for 5 years, and feel this could be a good alternative for vaping on the go.....we'll see.....take care!!!!

Great gadget, works very fine and produces incredible vapor. the only thing is, that after turning off it doesnt memorizes the temperatur. or does anybody know how i can adjust that?

This was touted as "portable". The earlier reviews I read said it did better than the Whispr at altitude which is why I bought it. The "instructions", which don't tell you anything at ALL about how to operate it, give you a list of things the Solo will not do. Does not function well with temperature changes. The "glass" gets too hot to touch and you have to wait at least 2 minutes before disassembling. This is heavy and definetly NOT portable. The "glass" pieces do not fit so I contacted AllStarVapes.com the shady company I bought it from. They will not return or exchange or refund the product. BEWARE. The glass tubes do not fit in the device. Allstar told me to heat it up and the "mealeable material" (glass?) will mold to fit the unit. Dangerous. Also - I just learned you are not able to replace the battery yourself once it runs out. DON'T BUY THIS UNIT!! I have a friend with a Whispr and if you want portability - get that one. Bummed I can't get an exchange, etc. Anyone want to purchase a brand new Arizer Solo? Best for home use, or hotel, etc. Not for hiking, camping, on the go. . .

The last reviewer is inpatient. I too thought the tubes (bowls) didnt fit, but they do. Watch a Youtube video.

The only Drawback I have found are the fact you cant chatge and use at the same time. And a fairly difficult draw (compared to old school papers).

Otherwise its frikkin awesome. I mean AWESOME!!

Realy little great vaporizer!

I Love my micro solo!
I am fairly new to using a vaporizer.
The micro solo is so handy! It works amazing, the people I have talked to about vaporizing when I tell them about the solo they want one!
It heats up very quickly! It shuts off after 12 minutes which is good for the battery and by than your herb is usually getting over done. Its super easy to clean. Compact!
Overall I have nothing bad the say about the solo; only I wish it were cheaper!

Been using the solo (black M106 2012 model) for a week now. Can advice it to everybody. Heat up time is good, mostly it will be heated up by the time I loaded the bowl.

I did add an extra screen to the bottom of the heating chamber as well as in the top of the bowl of the glass piece. The bottom one seemed to increase airflow a bit, and takes away most of my concern of AVB getting in the air holes of the unit. The top one in the glass bowl was necessary to stop particals from getting trough and into my mouth. Luckily I had read this thread completely before purchasing the solo so I already knew this would work.

Taste is superb, and vapor production is amazing. My herbs last lots longer and the effect is lot clearer in comparison to smoking. My typical bowl will be about .15 to .2g of herbs and will last me mostly for a good 7-8minutes of vaping. First hit, 15seconds in, is almost always without vapor, but man what a taste. This depends on if this is the first load or not. when the unit is heated up completely, for instance when I start a second session straigth after the first, it will produce vapor even with the first hit after being in the heating chamber for about 10seconds.

I used to own an i-olite, but the Solo literally blows that away when it comes to efficiency and taste. Battery life is huge, for me, I can use it during the day as much as I want and recharge during nighttime. Never ran out of power yet. And the unit does not even get warm after several back to back sessions. Now only thing to see is how long it lasts. And it does not produce any hissing sounds or anything like that.

And I have been using it on the go too. Funny how people have no clue when they see me walking by. Seeing it does produce visable and smelable(hihi) vapor, I would not advice doing this if you don't live in for instance the Netherlands :-)

I've used the "Arizer Solo" for about 4 months now and I simply have to say, I have never been more satisfied with a portable vaporizer before in my whole life(and regarding vaporizers, that's over 10 years of first-hand experience)! First, I also had the problem with getting the glass tubes right and tight into the metallic heating chamber(I had the option to choose between the old and the new, metallic version and I went with the latter), but when I had overcome this miniscule design issue, I was blown away by the sheer aromatic intensity due to the vapour's density, especially at the beginning of a bowl the taste compares absolutely to raw eating of the material, at least when you blow the air out through your nostrils, which I strongly recommend(in general with all vaporizers...like Puff, the Magic Dragon ;) ).

It even works well with rather humid material, in contrast to my experiences with forced-air vaporizers like Storz+Bickel's "Volcano"(which I also own and still use from time to time, especially when I sit in my chamber, while my girlfriend watches something I can't stand or when I seek inspiration for the creation of graphics or music), but the glass tube will naturally hold the humidity and will have to be cleaned sooner, as more condensation material is left inside the tube with more humid material. But if you use dried material, it holds really a long time, before you have to change or clean a screen or glass tube. I haven't changed my tubes yet, it is very stable and I've cleaned it with Ethanol, which works best for me. I prefer the straight tube. First, I use the second heat level(but you can also start sucking during the heating phase, although I usually insert the glass tube only after it has reached the second level) and when the material turns brown and gets that roasted taste, I use the third level to get the rest out of it. I cut it up again to pulverize it perfectly, when it's heating up for the third level.

The only two things I would like to address, are the missing "Sound Off"-Option, when it automatically turns off after 12 minutes(and also when you turn it on...but on the other hand, at least you see the remaining power level every time you turn it on) and the annoying necessity to buy another power supply for usage during charging. I still think it's a straight five-star product, especially for single person (outdoor) use, but 2-5 people can also have way enough from 1 load, naturally depending on the quality of the material that's being used. The "potpourri bowl" can be used for freebasing pure substances or vaporizing budder or oils, if you use it in combination with one of the glass tubes and on the seventh temperature level. I've bought mine at "JustVaporize" and it came in a perfectly fitting "VapeCase" for under 190€ or about 210€ including import taxes. I've owned and used a "SmokeBubble" and an "Iolite" before, the first is better for freebasing pure substances than for vaporizing herbs and the latter was defunctional after 18 months of daily usage(to be fair, that probably was my own fault, as I hadn't always used 5-times refined gas like "Vector"...but even when the "Iolite" seems to be far cheaper first, the expensive gas will neutralize that advantage over time). I still use my "Volcano Classic" sometimes(especially when I got enough time to finish 2-3 ballons, which I get from one load, about half the size of the Volcano's "Easy Valve" chamber, to which I have switched, after being fed up with making my own balloons with the "Solid Valve") as described above and also for bigger party settings, as a huge bag is sure a good thing to share(as you can see more clearly how much is left or how much you already had), but if you don't care about refilling from time to time(and re-charging if you don't own the extra power supply and it's a longer party), then the Arizer Solo will make it totally fine!

Best portable, personal vape. Period! I also have a Volcano, but find I'm pulling the Solo out more of the time lately.

OH HOW I MISS MY ARIZER SOLO! Until I destroyed it by accidentally immersing it in liquid, it was my Vape Baby! Alas, as my own idiocy resulted in the destruction of the vape, Arizer can not honor the warrenty, but as soon as I can afford to replace this little gem, I plan to do so.

The Solo is portable, rechargeable, has a temperature control feature and produces clouds of the tastiest, freshest vapor. The glass tube mouthpeice assures that the taste will be the best. Make sure you keep extras on hand because they are very easy to break. My Solo came with a hard shell case with a compartment to hold the glass "aroma tubes." This is a good vape to pass around for sharing, but as the glass tube just sits in there kind of loose, you have to be careful not to tip the unit sideways or upside down. The stealth factor is a big plus as the unit fits perfectly in a average sized drink cup. WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT I ACCIDENTALLY TRASHED MY VAPE! I was using an aluminum cup to hold my Solo. One morning I foolishly used it as an actual coffeee cup. Later, I dropped teh Solo into the cup, but Ooops! It still had coffee in it. Like I said...sure miss my Arizer Solo!

Oh well, life is a learning experience........

Right here goes, i use to be a smoker and decided to make the change to vaping due to the health benefits. After many hours of research i decided on the Solo. All i can say is WOW , making the switch from smoking bud is hard but the Solo made it an easy transition. I would recommend this to any one interested in vaping but is not sure what model to choose . There is no learning curve , put your bud in the stem and enjoy the glass airway and smooth tasty hits. Now planet vape have made some awesome free flowing stems which i would recommend and have personally used. All in all this vape is great and the only down side is the glass stem as this can effect the portability of the vape but this i can live with due to the great taste you get by the glass path used. 10/10

I have a Atmos and a DaVinci.
I would take my Solo over my DaVinci and the Atmos combined.
If you do not have one you are missing the boat.
