As you inhale, a halogen light bulb heats up the air flowing through the herb. The vapor is then purified by an additional water filter. With the Aromed you can vaporize fresh or dried plant material, tinctures, and essential oils.

Aromed 4.0 ReviewBy Nils Holgerson on 11-11-2009
I don't know if it's worth buying really. At 200C you have to inhale very, very deep about 10 times to get a noticeable effect from the "herb". The same with tobacco.
I get a much stronger effect when SMOKING either herb. First I thought there was something wrong with the machine, and I sent it back to the producer. They calibrated it at a higher temperature, but the problem remains. I have inhaled at many different temperatures and the effect is small.

I am a TOTAL believer! This is the best! Herb lasts way longer than smoking and has way better effects. Wife can't smell it in the house or on my breath! Best temp around 190-200 c. Best advice is to forget everything you thought you knew about smoking and remember this is NOT A BONG so don't use it like one. Follow instructions and you'll get the hang of it.

Heats through a halogen light bulb. The temp. regulation works very well. And it produces delicious vapor. The thing is that it really has a mad scientist design. You've got to love it.
Worth the money.

The aromed is the best, I've tried air forced, wips, genie but aromed is cooler, stronger in taste, bigger or small amount to fit in bowl, works like a hooker but hits like a bong. The flexible pipe is a bit hard to set up at first but when right ya can see the vapor rise in a clean bowl and water. I put my water bowl in a container that could hold it up and the bowl safely with foam to give flexibility around and underneath.
Then turned aromed sideways and took time and care placing the bowl and light flat and straight, then to refill the bowl , tilt aromed sideways and slide the bottle holder out and in.
Works great for me for 8 years better than the day I got it, I replaced 4 bowls I dropped and one globe and use it every day 6 to 8 times.
(Tricky)Temp can be changed by removing the globe and pushing very little the heat coated wire down (away from the globe)the hole a bit, resistant not right through ya need it too cut out the light.
I don’t think there is many better than aromed though I do look. The battery ones would be good for oil and hash but aromed can too.
Aromed 4.0 reviewBy Visitor on 10-06-2012
I become therapeuticly captivated upon its soft lighting when starting and using throughout each session. It's construction can be fairly equally likend to the appearance of a high pressure sodium discharge lamp with ballast but only miniature in size. Honey, I shrunk my indoor lighting system! For the finale, it's method of delivery is purely reliable self inhalation through a mini water filtration glass piece of art with whip for additional cooling. And if ever anyone has tried vaporizing their herb with a magnifying glass on a perfect day then you will know that what you are tasting and experiencing is precisely that awesomeness!

The design is rough and old school, handwork. Pristine German quality. Had it for 7 years on almost every day and never had a single failure. No other consumables needed, I still run the original halogen bulb. That means ZERO maintainance cost in 7 years. Love it.
The best engineering value is that the dirty parts are separated from the main unit and can be cleaned in washing machine. I used Vapir before and it was stinking mess.
I would buy another one if this gets broken or stolen or lost, I wouldn't even check what else is there on the market. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. The price is righteous.
