The PUFFiT-X is an updated version of the PUFFiT Vaporizer, featuring an internal ventilator. This makes it the world's first forced air portable vaporizer. The PUFFiT-X was introduced to the market in August 2013.
Similar to the original PUFFiT, the PUFFiT-X features temperature control and charges via USB. Heating up takes around 30 seconds.
The speed of the ventilator can be adjusted using the temperature switch dial. Other improvements include an easy fill-funnel, reworked temperature settings and a charge/display stand accessory.

PUFFiT-X Vaporizer ReviewBy Vaporizer Info on 23-08-2013
Since its introduction last year, the PUFFiT has been a somewhat controversial vaporizer. It seems that users either love it or hate it, and this is reflected in many online reviews. Some users mention a plastic taste, others are dissapointed with the thin vapour that this inhaler-shaped vaporizer produces. I personally think the PUFFiT should be treated mostly as a super-stealthy device that allows for use in places where this would otherwise be impossible. We now take a closer look at the recently released PUFFiT-X, which is touted as 'the world's first forced-air portable vaporizer'.
A forced air portable sounds like a great idea. But at the same time it makes me wonder if there really is demand for this. It kind of reminds me of the Extreme Q's remote control. Nifty, but not necessary.
If you're new to the PUFFiT, then I suggest reading our PUFFiT review first. After all, the PUFFiT-X is pretty much a standard PUFFiT with a built-in ventilator as well as some other small adjustments.
To my surprise, the PUFFiT-X comes in a variety of eye-catching colours. No more 'ventolin' blue, which I always believed contributed greatly to the stealth factor of this vape. Instead, one can now choose from 'Passionate Purple', 'Cool Camo' and 'Get Down Grey'. After asking the manufacturer about this, I was assured that a blue edition will become available again at a later time. Phew.
The box is somewhat larger than it was before, and holds a bunch of new accessories. For one, the protection case is more rugged and spacious. Also new is a charging stand, allowing you to gracefully position your PUFFiT upright while it is being charged. A'filling tool' is also included. This plastic cup can be placed on top of the bowl and creates a larger opening (much like a funnel) to simplify the tedious task of loading your bowl with shredded herb.
Next to a mini-USB (to USB) plug, an AC adapter is included, and promises a 1 hour rapid charge of up to 80%, with an additional 30 minute trickle charge. Like the original PUFFiT, the unit still has the older micro-USB port, whereas I would've preferred micro-USB (also used by most modern smart phones).
Other than the new colours, no visual changes can be observed from the outside. Once the metal cap at the top is removed, the (revamped) bowl becomes visible. While remaining gold-plated, a blue silicon part has been added near the top. The spring ('vapor enhancement thingy') that previously had to be placed in the cap for improved vapour is now integrated in the cap and cannot be removed.
So apart from these minor changes, the major difference is to be found under the hood, where a ventilator assists with blowing vapour into your lungs.
Important to know prior to using this vape, is that the speed of the fan can be adjusted (using the temperature dial). This actually makes a great difference, particularly when it comes to the sound produced by the built-in fan. At the highest setting, I find the sound of the fan rather disturbing - resembling that of an electric toothbrush or worse, a dental drill.
While the battery life is reduced through use of the ventilator, it is still very acceptable - a fully charged PUFFiT-X will last several (2-3) bowls - depending on the temperature and ventilator setting. I also get the impression that the vapour production has slightly improved compared to the original PUFFiT.
Unfortunately, there is still a rubber smell and taste noticeable. It did fade after using it for some time, but by no means can the PUFFiT-X compete with the clean taste of other popular portable vapes, such as the Solo or DaVinci's Ascent.
At higher fan settings, the PUFFiT-X produces a steady flow of hot air, which - admittedly - is super easy and convenient to inhale. The main trade off however, is the sound. This is by far my biggest concern (or complaint, if you will) about this vape. The high pitched sound of the ventilator completely takes away the stealthiness, and will actually have faces turning to see where this noise comes from. Luckily, use of the fan is optional, so you may decide not to use it under certain circumstances.
The PUFFiT-X carries a price tag of $169.99 (DiscreetVape Shop) / €159 (VapoShop)

PUFFiT-X reviewBy Alex on 26-10-2013
I just recevied yesterday my puffit X, i got an Arizer extreme Q also as my table vaporizer and grabbed this for on the go.
Opening the box the packaging was neat, high quality packaging for being honest, got some accesories with it as well. I read the manual and added my herbs to the chamber, un capped and started workingwith it, first time the fan was a lil bit too much for me but then i started liking it at top speeds, i just had to close my mouth tight and press the thing until the cycle is done and got a mouthful of nice vape.
Comparing tastes yeah theres a silicone taste at the beginin, kind of the smell u get (but with a taste) when u go to a Nike Factory store or something like that. The taste ran out at the second time i filled the chamber.
I must say im really happy with my unit, it works. Not the best vaporizer but gets the job done. Gotta say herbs werent the best quality also so i expect a lil more flavor next time i put in some real kush.
I do recommend it for people that already have a great vaporizer like the Arizer extreme Q, volcano or any similar and u want a different Portable. Personally i didnt want the PAX , way too expensive, and didnt want the arizer portable cuz it has glass materials on the go its a no no.

I have a problem giving this a good review. I have many vaporizers and they all perform well. This one is at the bottom of my list in terms of performance and value. Why? Read on....
I do not find the volume of vapor coming out of the mouthpiece to be sufficient enough to exhale a decent medicating hit. The fan noise is annoying and while the stream of vapor looks cool under a bright light I do not get enough vapor to do the job.
By the way the herb I am using is finely ground, very dry and very potent. The best thing I can say about this Puffit X is that the chamber doesn't hold a hell of a lot of herb. The herb I did put in it was wasted. I was the one who was supposed to get "wasted" not the weed!
In truth I did get the effects of the herb through the Puffit X but it took more effort than the buzz was worth. It was NOT an enjoyable experience.
Trying the unit without the fan yielded similar results. The FAQ on the website states that the Puffit X is NOT a big clouds type vaporizer ... ok, I'll accept that. I find that to get any type of medicating draw I have to use it manually and draw hard for a long time. I am just not getting enough vapor from this thing no matter what temp and fan setting I use. The button on top is uncomfortable to hold down for extended periods. For me this unit produces minimal results with maximum discomfort.
I wanted this thing to be as great as they said it would be but sadly, it is NOT! I hope that someone else has better results that I did.
My Pax is so much better than this "toy" that there's no contest. There a lot of hype and cool advertising on this vaporizer and based on this mis-information I purchased this so called vaporizer. I am disappointed to the point that I am selling this "turkey" at a big loss just to get rid of it.
Sorry if this review is negative but it is based upon my experience with the unit. I really hope that others have better luck with this.

I've had my Puffit-X since September. It is convenient, and produces sufficient vapor to "get the job done". The fan is a great idea but it sticks from time to time and finally gave out. At first I nursed it along by opening the case and lubricating the fan blade. Now it requires assistance to begin spinning. This is inconvenient as it must be opened to access the fan. Bottom line: I like it enough to buy another. So I did! I'm hoping this one will last longer. I can still use my original but without the forced air option. It's quieter but I had no issues with the fan volume. I do recommend giving it a try.
