The AirVape XS GO is a pocket friendly stealth like conduction vape that is sturdy yet light. It looks great and is easy to use.

AirVape XS GO User Friendliness

The AirVape XS GO uses one button for all functions. It’s very easy to use.

Loading

To load, remove the mouthpiece and insert your ground herb into the heating chamber. It’s simple. The entrance to the heating chamber is nicely curved which helps when you are scooping the herb from the palm of your hand. A technique you’ll most likely employ.

Setting Temperature

The AirVape XS GO has a series of 5 bars that light up when you change the temperature. A small one at the bottom indicates a low temperature and a large one at the top the highest temperature. It’s a great way to visualise the temperature setting. Temperature is changed when you press and hold the button. After a few seconds it cycles through the preset temperatures. Release the button when it is at your desired temperature. The light will then pulse to indicate that it is heating. When the light is solid you are ready to draw.

Ease of Use

The AirVape XS GO is easy to use. Press the button three times to turn it on or off and hold the button to cycle through the different preset temperatures. It’s intuitive and the lighting system is a great way to get feedback on which temperature you are on. I preferred the experience to that of the CFC Lite we recently reviewed which uses colours to indicate the temperature.

There is no haptic feedback on this vape which means you must rely on watching the lights to know when you can vape.

Another role the lights play are showing you how much battery charge is left. When you turn it on they flash to display how much power it has. All five lights, means it’s full, all the way down to one light, meaning that it needs charging. This is indicated each time you turn it on or off.

AirVape XS GO Performance

Heating time

Heating time is reasonable. Once loaded you will most likely start on the low temperature and increase with each one or two draws. When you do this you don’t really notice any significant waiting time. From ambient room temperature to maximum temperature takes longer but I would not say it is excessive.

Vapour Quality

As with any new plastic portable vape it has a slight plastic taste to the vapour. I conditioned the model I as was testing with dry runs at maximum temperature and dried ginger. It helped but I still noticed a slight taste after that. It was only around 3-4 refills later that the taste started to wear off. This seems to be the case for all vapes that use plastic in the sections that make up the air path – in this case the mouthpiece.

Aside the taste (a temporary issue) the vape quality is good. I was able to taste the herb inside the chamber and produce satisfying clouds of vapour.

AirVape XS GO Build Quality

Despite its small size the AirVape XS GO feels solid. The main body is constructed from sturdy plastic which has a tactile rubbery feel. Seams are tight and straight. I really like the design and it’s comfortable to hold in your hand or slip into your pocket.

The mouthpiece is made from a different plastic and has a shiny finish. It too feels solid. Though the magnets holding the mouthpiece in place do not seem very effective. I did experience it opening in my pocket – though thankfully no herb escaped. Losing a bowl of herb is one thing but losing the mouthpiece is more of a worry. In a dark crowed environment – the kind of place like this vape will visit – there is a chance the mouthpiece could get knocked off.

AirVape XS GO Maintenance and Cleaning

You have direct access to the ceramic heating chamber and the opening is big enough for you to give it a good clean out (with the integrated poker or brush that is provided).

A replaceable screen protects the bottom of the heating chamber where the holes that allow the air to pass through are located. This can be removed to be cleaned with alcohol or replaced.

There is also a screen in the mouthpiece. This too can be easily removed for cleaning or replacing. The mouthpiece has a neat integrated cooling system with a series of channels inside a small space. You get spares of each of the screens.

The battery is not removable. Whilst it helps keep the design neat and clutter free it means that those who want an extended session cannot. It also means that when the battery dies so does your vape.

AirVape XS GO Value For Money

The AirVape XS GO is great value for money. It’s great looking, solid, compact and offers a decent vape session. It is not the cheapest vape on the market but at €69 it is reasonably priced. AirVape do make solid, nice looking vapes that tend to be on the reassuring expensive side.

Who Is It Good For?

The AirVape XS GO is a great entry to vaping for the occasional vaper and it is also a solid choice for a small second vape. In my testing I’ve taken it shopping, walking in the rain and to the cinema. It performed well in all situations. I would consider bringing it along with me to a club, snowboarding or mountain biking. It is very versatile.

Editors Verdict
I did roll my eyes at the prospect of testing yet another small plastic vape but having a soft spot for the AirVape brand I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I’m glad I did. It’s easy to load, easy to use, easy to clean, is super tough, very light and fits nicely in your hand or pocket.

It’s the ideal companion for a sneaky toke whilst out and about. I would love it even more if it had haptic feedback.

I also miss not being able to change the battery. Having the ability to bring a spare would make this an ideal vape for off grid trips. But it’s not a deal breaker. It has enough strengths to balance out these two omissions.

I’m sure this will be one of the vapes I have lying around to grab on my way out. It’s so light why take anything else?
