The CFC LITE – from Boundless Technologies – is as small as you can get for a battery powered device capable of vaping dried herb. It’s also one of the least expensive electronic portable vaporizer’s on the market.

CFC LITE: fits comfortably in the hand and pocket
It has a larger than average heating chamber – holding 0.4 grams, heats up exceedingly fast, is easy to operate, has haptic feedback and a swappable battery. These are impressive specs for such a price point.
It’s a solid stealthy unit ideal for those in need of a compact vape that can handle a bit of rough and tumble.
Boundless CFC LITE User Friendliness
The CFC LITE uses one button to turn on/off and adjust the temperature. Boundless have done a good job in keeping the user experience simple and logical.

– Loading
To load, remove the mouthpiece. This reveals the large heating chamber. At 0.4 grams it is on the larger size with other popular models having 0.3 or 0.25 gram sized ovens. Once open scoop your ground herb into the chamber.

CFC LITE: remove mouthpiece to reveal heating chamber
Having a large chamber will mean you’ll get through your herb faster. It would have been nice if Boundless included an insert to allow you to decrease the size of the chamber as per the PAX3 – which is a similar sized (though pricier) device.
– Setting Temperature
The CFC LITE has no screen and the temperature cannot be set incrementally – as per the slightly more expensive CFC 2. It comes with three preset temperatures. The lowest temperature is a rather high 196℃, 206℃ being the mid point and maxing out at 216℃.

CFC LITE: change the temperature with the button
Vape connoisseurs who prefer a lower temperature to start may be disappointed. At this price point you cannot expect a connoisseur grade device (although you can pick up a flame powered VapCap M for less).
– Ease of Use
Use is easy. Hit the button five times to turn it on. It will automatically heat to the last preset temperature. The button glows the colour of the temperature – blue cold, green medium and red high heat. The button pulses as it heats then stays a solid colour once the temperature is reached. You get haptic feedback too – so you don’t have to stare at the flashing light to find out when it is ready.

CFC LITE: discrete yet solid
Hold the button for three seconds to change the temperature to the next setting – you also get a haptic feedback buzz as well as the light changing colour.

CFC LITE: LEDs display how much charge is left
It’s neat and functional. I’m especially impressed with the look of the glowing button. On the front of the device are tiny blue LEDs that let you know how much power is remaining.
Boundless CFC LITE Performance
– Heating time
I was surprised at how fast the CFC LITE heated up given the small battery and high temperature point. Once warm, heating to the next temperature is also fast.

CFC LITE: mouthpiece houses two filters
– Vapour Quality
Given the price point the vapour quality is a lot better than you would expect.
I followed these excellent vape burn-off instructions to prepare the device. I was pleasantly surprised with the results.
I didn’t notice any unpleasant plastic taste. In a side by side comparison with a CFC 2.0 I noticed the vapour was better tasting in the CFC LITE.
The vapour was dense – hardly surprising given the size of the chamber and the temperature this device runs at!
Boundless CFC LITE Build Quality
Despite it’s small size the CFC LITE feels solid. The main body and battery enclosure are constructed of a sturdy plastic that has a tactile rubbery feel. Seams are tight and straight.

CFC LITE: nice rubbery finish
The mouthpiece is made from a different plastic and has a shiny finish. It too feels solid. The mouthpiece gives a satisfying click when attached to the body and stays fast.
Boundless states all the materials are medical grade.
Boundless CFC LITE Maintenance and Cleaning
You have direct access to the ceramic heating chamber and the opening is big enough for you to give it a good clean (with the brush they provide). If needed you could get an alcohol cleaning swab in there to clean.
A replaceable screen protects the bottom of the heating chamber where the holes that allow the air to pass through are located. This can be poked out then cleaned with alcohol or replaced.

CFC LITE: easy to clean mouthpiece
There are two screens in the mouthpiece. They too can be easily removed for cleaning or replacing. Included in the box are 3 stainless steel mouthpiece screens and 5 stainless steel chamber screens.

CFC LITE: the dinky 18350 battery
At present I could not locate any spare parts for sale for the CFC LITE. Boundless offer spares for their other models so I’m assuming that this is because the LITE is new.
Boundless CFC LITE Value For Money
The Boundless CFC LITE is great value for money. It’s solid, compact and offers a decent vape session. It is entry level price for electronic portable vapes but wins out the competition thanks to the removable battery and haptic feedback.
Who Is It Good For?
A CFC LITE could be good for you if you mountain bike, snowboard, or do other activities where you’d like to vape. I doubt you could break it if you dropped it or fell on it and if you were to lose it it’s not going to break the bank to replace. So in that respect it makes a great second vape.

CFC LITE: turn the end to access the battery
If you are new to vaping and want something inexpensive to start you off then a CFC LITE could be a good option. The three set temperatures take the guess work out of finding a good temperature and the high temperatures and big oven will ensure you can’t fail to produce satisfyingly big clouds.
